Maybe I'm weird for being a teenager and listening to this. However, I honestly find vintage songs so calming and absolutely beautiful. I mean, Paula Kelly's voice is so soothing as well magical in a sense. I do wish this was a bit more popular with todays youth, just because this seems pretty underrated. Although, I do understand everyone has preference. And it's perfectly valid for my generation to listen to what is popular today. Side note though, this song would make a perfect Lo-Fi piece. :)

Lyrics bc I’m not seeing any:
Through the trees
Comes Autumn with her serenade
Melodies
The sweetest music ever played
Autumn kisses we knew
Are beautiful souvenirs
As I pause to recall
The leaves seem to fall like tears
Silver stars
Were clinging to an Autumn sky
Love was ours
Until October wandered by
Let the years come and go
I'll still feel the glow
That time cannot fade
When I hear
That lovely Autumn serenade
Love was ours
Until October wandered by
Let the years come and go
I'll still feel the glow
That time cannot fade
When I hear
That lovely Autumn serenade
Serenade
Serenade

I close my eyes : I'm in my study on my lounge chair, all around me a library filled to the brim with books from every possible topic, the fireplace crackles only feet away, offering the only source of heat. The radio sits on the table next to the doorway. This song begins to play, I look at the window and see the yellowing trees in the yard, the kids are playing tag falling in the piles of leaves we had raked from the previous day, evening is approaching. My attention is re-directed to the kitchen, through the door way I can see my wife is making a meatloaf with red sauce and mashed potatoes. She is swaying back and forth in kitchen bobbing to the tune. I leave the study and the comfort of the fireplace to join her. We dance in the kitchen for what seems like hours, the children come in from the approaching cold, they ask about the first Pumpkin pie of fall and she responds after dinner. I know have to work tomorrow for my family, but they make it all worth it. I open my eyes: it was a dream, but a lovely dream. Yet still one I wont forget any time soon.

They can't be humans. The harmonies sound like angels from Heaven.

This rendition and that by Buddy Stewart in a Gene Krupa radio broadcast are my two favorite renditions of this haunting, poignant autumn melody.

Listening to this August 22, 2022. I know it's not quite Autumn yet, but I feel it creeping in. Just added it to my Halloween playlist.

People valued beauty and innocence back then. The 60s happened and ruined everthing.
