AWS' addition of VPC Traffic Mirroring enabled engineers to mirror traffic across virtualized network interfaces. That's useful for security monitoring, performance monitoring, development and troubleshooting.

This was recorded shortly before Cisco's certification apocalypse. The “cert-pocalypse” was one of the most striking changes ever made to Cisco’s line-up. Every Cisco cert from CCENT to CCIE received an enormous restructuring.

Azure, for its part, had been recently updated with Private Link. This provides a way to connect to Azure platform-as-a-Service over the Microsoft network.
