For someone in the comments: Can you like understand the difference by a non-colonial empire and a colonial empire? A non- colonial empire is an empire which doesn't have territories far away from the mainland. A colonial empire is an empire which expands on territories far away from the main land. Everyone here think that the Roman Empire was a colonial empire, but didn't had colonies far away from the mainland (by this i mean that he didn't had colonies, he had all the lands reunited, and not far away from the mainland). The British empire was a colonial empire because they had colonies far away from the mainland (For example they had colonies in America, Africa, Asia and Oceania)
