The new Google AI Overview feature has been giving some really weird Google search results. Backed by the Google Gemini AI the technology was supposed to compete with ChatGPT, but it has shown early signs of issues after the artificial intelligence gave some very... interesting results.

Why is the AI overview telling me that the reason most people don't carry a deck of cards around with them is simply because it takes up too much room in people's pockets and could get damaged, but it's not explaining why people are willing to carry smart phones around with them in their pockets which are about the same size as a deck of cards and can get damaged too? I realise of course that smartphones are obviously more useful to most people than a deck of cards unless someone is perhaps a poker player/magician. But they AI overview is just simply and mistakenly saying that a deck of cards takes up too much room in a pocket and could get damaged, but it's not explaining why people don't feel the same way about smartphones. The AI overview just isn't good enough, and I can tell there's no real logic going on there. I asked the AI overview why it's responding like that to my question but it just stops working and comes up with nothing. It's just not intelligent enough. No real reason or logic.
