Golden wonder - A Cornish fisherman has had a once-in-a-lifetime catch after pulling in an incredibly rare yellow lobster.

The chances of finding a yellow lobster is about one in 30million - a rarity that has saved this one from the cooking pot.

Fisherman Stuart Trembath, known as Barnie, could not believe his eyes when he hauled in the golden catch off the coast of Cape Cornwall.

He contacted the National Lobster Hatchery in Padstow who have taken the lobster in and are asking for the public's help to name female.

Lobsters are generally a dark brown with a bluish or greenish tint and only turn red when cooked.

A genetic mutation called leucism is what gives this beauty its rare yellow hue, as a special protein binds with the astaxanthin in its shell.
