Simply amazing, thank you so much for this lesson Jeff! As a thrash metal based drummer i found difficult to articulate the double bass into genres "less straight" according to this video. Legends like Vinnie or Simon Phillips amongst others exploit the true musicality of the technique and i'm very grateful to find a teacher that not only understands this but takes the time to make a series of excersices to learn, please keep it going, greetings from Argentina

Check out the syncopated double bass fills he plays on the Jeff Beck gig at Ronnie Scott's on the song Led Boots. For all practical purposes what Vinnie does, in all the styles he plays is; plays very interesting patterns that don't ever clutter the music he's playing. The guy has recorded with; Zappa, Megadeth, Sting, Jeff Beck, Satriani, Holdsworth, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, just to name a few. The guy plays country music, pop, he played on the Joan River show...probably the most versatile and musical drummer of all time!

Speaking of Rod Morgenstein, I really love his double bass work on Steve Morse's High Tension Wires album. He definitely uses it more as a technique, rather than a style throughout the album.

Hey Jeff I have a question about those drumming programs, programing drums, grooves and so forfth...
I am a drummer and I also play in church, the church I go don't play well recognized worship songs so that I can listen for the drum parts, they play not so known songs and the instrumental pretty much sucks especially the drums..

I was wondering if there is a program where I can generate the drum parts for the song I want? I would love that, to heart what the program come with and I take the larts or adjust them a little bit..

The thing is that I don't like those songs that much and I don't want to spend a lot of time to create on my own the drumming parts, I'm into prog metal, fusion, stuff like that, that's what I love to listen all day long. But I do have to play songs songs that aren't that known and you can barely can find some drumming ideas on youtube..
Do you have any idea?
