I own one. It will do 130+ all day long. Haters gonna hate. This thing is a cruiser till you hit 6000 RPM, then it turns into a sport bike(ish)! More than a few occasions I have dusted guys on sport bikes.

Displacement is proportional to the number of cylinders. A 750 twin only puts out about half the horse power. A typical 1200cc puts out 100 - 110 HP. The Magna puts out 80 HP. and is generally lighter than most of those bikes.

Total sleeper bike. Unless you are running something with an inline 4, this thing will kill it! Hands down!

Sweet, found this video in 2022. Back in late 80's I purchased a V65, 1100cc giving 116 horse power.... I was more concerned with the tires that came stock on the bike when traveling over 100 miles an hour. Which was cruising speed for that bike, all day... I ran METZELER M888 Marathon Ultra Tires... they fit the stock rims rated to over 150 mph and heavy loads, 550lbs front and 900+lbs rear. Felt saver on high speed tires, plus there were truly round and balanced... and expensive.

I was given a 2000 magna 750 last year that needs carb work done, the guy didnt know what the bike was, he called it a shadow. As soon as I saw the engine I was like I know what that is!". Cant wait to get it going and ride it

I own one of these bikes 1996 VF750 and don't doubt for a second he was hitting 130. The fastest I got mine up to was about 120 or 125 on the interstate before mortality kicked in and I eased up. My brother was on a  1983 V45 750  and he flew past me and there is no telling how high he got up to. The '83 was the fastest production motorcycle for it's time. Magna's are full on beasts of bikes with a rich legacy. Read up on them kids...they're awesome.

Buying myself a MINT condition 1999 Honda Magna next week. Just tried it the other day, immediately fell in love with it. Literally crawling out of skin waiting for next week to come, when I can meet up and buy it.

I agree with some earlier comments.
My 1997 vf750c Magna will do
125 with no mods. As I have
Said before, " get a bug screen or
Small windshield and you will
Enjoy the bike a lot more".

I have a 2000 Magna tangerine orange custom seat and custom pipes people think it's a Harley but always tell them "No it's not a Harley I wanted something that will last forever with low maintenance... It's a Honda" they giggle with a nod of approval ❤

My daily bike is a 1996 Honda magna vf750c. I've had it to 137 and had room left. You can rev these bikes out to over 11k rpms. But I never saw a 130 in this video. I've wiped the floor with all sorts of Harleys. The bike is ridiculously fast for what it is because of the gearing. But I never saw 130 in this video

Yes, K&N air filter, Pingel high flow fuel valve and Vance & Hines exhausts.

I had a 1995, yellow. It was great but not so much on a long ride. I did a Saddle Sore 1, 000 mile in one day. It just lacked the comfort I would like for so many miles. I even had a Corbin seat which was waaayyy better than the stock seat! Yea, it would do 80 down the interstate all day with no problems. Then one day some 18 yearr old pulled out in front of me and that Magna just could not stop that fast!

I was surprised how fast the cars were going haha! At 130 you weren't "blowing by" them so people must drive pretty fast where you live! Just bought a 94 MAGNA only 15000KM on it stoked to get out riding it soon! Beauty bikes!!!

About to own one, a 94' Yellow, absolutely looking forward to it...but 130 is what my last bike, an R6 did in the blink of an eye...I'm hoping the comfort makes up for the difference in "get fast", and I kind of love how it just goes, sounds, all that good stuff :D reading comments like "I blow away sports bikes"...well let's be real a a sec, you might pull on them in 2-3rd if they're stock, with inexperienced riders, but facts are facts, and even my 600cc R6 left just about every bike(that wasn't a crotch rocket) I ever lined up to with lengths between us when it comes to 0-130. My R6 was difficult, bitchy, and far too aggressive to enjoy the ride unless you're racing, so I'm hoping that + comfort will fill the gap in performance I might not even miss oO I have to admit, the mid range on these is pretty fkn brutal :D

well made. But I have my own thoughts about mods. For example. My vf750 is totally stock. Even has a windshield (midsize), and uses 91 oct fuel. And I have made 125 mph runs side by side with some friends on 600cc sportbikes.
Plus we all have made some drags with good results. The magna runs nose to nose with regular 600cc´s. I recommend just tunning up.

99 v45, previous owner gutted the baffles and jetted the carbs. With stock tooth count It bottomed the speedometer with a couple grand to go. It was a good stretch of TX road. Got low and had to find out.

Fastest I have gone so far is 105, had a feeling to slow down passed two state troopers a minute later

The speedo does in fact show it hitting 130mph and the bike is very capable of doing it, I've done 120mph+ with a rider on the back in my V45 Sabre 750 (same engine) and it has many many more miles on the odometer than this one has.  My only concern is the amount of traffic on public roads when travelling at those speeds, really should save that kind of driving for a track day.

I just bought a '99 Magna, so it's nice to see they're potential.  A very blurry vid but, well done on the riding.
