Well I finally got to see how this new clip attaches. I bored out those tabs on mine to accept the Leatherman ratchet. So not sure it would work anyways. Not really pocket carrying a multitool anyway. When I do think I need pliers the P2 and Skeletool RX have been good to pocket carry. But I mainly just carry my Spirit XC at work and do not desire OHO for a serrated blade. I use a blade so much it warrants its own platform. I use Spyderco. I have a Vic Executive on my keys. That covers me off work for gadgets I actually use.

If you ever need to pick up something very small say a needle or such the jaws are all ready open enough so you need not have to do anything just squeeze and pick up.
I've got a Spirit coming in 3 days it's been a long week waiting.
I am using my original as a back up, should have done it 24 yrs ago.Not going to miss getting pinched. And the small tools are on the outside and come out 1 at a time not everyone of them like the wave.
You still like the spirit ?

Hi, thanks for the video. Try to put the clip on the other side on the handle. On mine there is a very small difference in terms of thickness .. and my pliers close without problems, since I realized that.
I moved the clip to the thinnest side. it's suptile but you notice it when you look at the multitool from the front..

Nice review, the one thing I will say is……….. I don’t think that Victorinox would make the pocket clip like that unless it had a purpose. I mean it’s supposed to be like that, to work as a set of sprung needle nose pliers, to pick up the finer things you’ll need to work with. 😃😃

Great job on the multitool content, another great review. Imo there are a few things that have to be overlooked to label this the best multitool out there. One being the pocket clip doesn’t allow for the pliers to close w/o applying pressure. Another being the scissors. You mentioned in your previous review, iirc, how hard it is to deploy the scissors, and that’s an issue. Also the scissors are small and don’t open wide w/o bending the spring. And now the price increase.

I don’t own the Spirit X and frankly the scissors are the main reason…and now the price. I own the Free P2 and really like the OHO on everything, but the file is really small and the depth gauge is something I won’t use. The scissors are ok, but not as good as SAK scissors. The surge is the closest, for me, to my perfect toolset…but it’s heavy. I have several other Leatherman and rotate between carrying them. I don’t have 1 that is the hands down perfect multitool, so the search, collection, and watching reviews continues.

So all that said, you might be right that it could be the best out there haha. I don’t think I’ll be dropping $160 on the new OHO version though, it’s just too much imo. If the scissors were the 91mm version I’d be more likely to.

The clip on the big swisstool doesnt get in the way of closing the pliers, its very nice, i even carry this bad boy now on my sweatpants at home, can also clip it directly to a belt. A little tip i found out: under the backside of the clip fits a 10-15mm splitring, i attach a lanyard there with a carabiner. Still like it more than my new surge, there the clip wobbles around because its made for the smaller wave/charge only :/ i personally dont like the shape of the spirit but quality wise it blows anything else out of the water (minus the swisstool, wich is even better:P)

Is the Spirit very difficult to keep clean? I work on a farm, so everything inevitably gets gritty. People tell me it cleans up easily, but I'm hesitant with anything that can't be broken down for a deep cleaning.

3:35 could it be that they did that on purpose to make the pliers have some spring for fine work? They must have known it.
