'Rita Dove - An American Poet'. Film premiere at the Paramount

Premiere of the documentary film "Rita Dove - An American Poet" by Eduardo Montes-Bradley at the Paramount Theater in Charlottesville, Virginia, January 31, 2014. The evening was sponsored by the University of Virginia's vice president and chief officer for diversity and equity as the final event of the annual Martin Luther King celebrations. Vice president Marcus Martin mc'ed. After the showing of the movie rock violinist Boyd Tinsley of the Dave Matthews Band presented a homage on Rita Dove in front of the packed audience of about a thousand people. Rita Dove then read from her poetry and, after an interlude of local teenage cellist Faith Brown playing "Le Cygne" by Camille Saint Saens, sat down with her UVA English dept. colleague Christopher Tilghman for an on-stage interview.
