You should add hostile tribes. One major reason why native American tribes collapsed before the colonists were that many tribes have rivalries with others and wouldn't unite and many times would fight each other. The iroqious in the late 1600s, for example, basically forged a trading empire based on pelts throughout the American northeast. They massacred the Huron in the beaver wars. They were supported by the dutch and English and forced most of the neighboring tribes out before losing most of the territory to colonists.
