How much better is a top 0.01% vs top 1% rocket league player? That question gets answered in this video. Through a set of skill challenges, we see how these two high level players directly compare to each other.

I got some time with Version1 Comm to see how we compared when put into the same skill challenges. In the big picture, we are both very high level Rocket League players. However, when put side by side, it's clear he is in an entirely different league of his own. RLCS pros are in a completely different tier of skill and this video is a great showcase of how far above even top 1% players they are. Thank you to Version1 Comm for participating in the video and showing off his Rocket League skills.

as a gc2, alot of people underestimate the skill difference between a gc and an ssl and an ssl with a pro. The skill gap in this game is utterly insane.

So now I know what to practice in order to get from the top 1% to the top .01%. Now I just need to get out of the bottom 20% and I’ll be set!

Also keep in mind that all of the challenges are in training, another thing that separates top players is being able to do this against top competition. That and having the game sense and speed needed to put it all together.

I was literally thinking about this last night. Especially with conversations about GC vs SSL becoming more common, I was wondering how much better the very elite are from just good players. Thanks for answering my question before you knew I had it!

I would honestly say that the skill gap between gc to ssl to pro is larger than plat to gc. it’s absurd how much better and more consistent pros are

if we put Wayton in the middle of GC in 2v2 for arguments sake he'd be about 1500 MMR, we can safely put Comm nearly top 200 which is about 2000 MMR. Good way to realize this is the 500 MMR gap between them is the same as Wayton to a Diamond 3. I'd love to see this repeated with Wayton vs a 1000 MMR 2s player to see if a 500 MMR gap is represented by total domination in these challenges. Could even repeat with the next gap down which is 1000 to 500 (d3 to g1)

I went through this in track and field. I was a good HS track runner. Very likely in the top 1% but once I got into college, I got destroyed. There are huge levels within that top 1%.

This video is pretty much slapping Cbell's "SSL ruined Rocket League" video in the face.😂

Best part about this game is how fun it is at any skill level. As long as everyone in the game is around the same level, its an absolute blast!!!

Can you do SSL vs Pro next please? I've always wondered how much of a skill gap is there between those two.

The power that Comm was getting on his first touch during the double tap section was so insane! Mind blowing car control.

I know it doesn't matter much, but any shots like 114.5x are actually considered 115 in the rocket league replay. Taking that into account, both of you had a lot more throughout this series that could have been counted.

To me the skill gap between every rank is exponential. My friend and I are just casual players, in plat like most of us. We had a string of bad plat tournaments and got demoted to gold and won the tournament with only giving up one goal the whole time. It really is crazy how big of a skill gap exists between ranks

I've always looked at the skill gap in RL from a soccer perspective. I introduced a mate of mine who had a very short pro career at a low level to a kid who was in a few European academies but had failed to get a pro contract. One thing my friend said to him always stuck with me: "You'd know as well as me that the difference between us and the guys at senior level isn't the skill - they have an edge that you'll find too within a season - it's the mentality. They know that we can do all the things with and without the ball that they can, so they make sure they can do it 99% of the time when they see that we can do it 98%."

In other words the top 0.01% will always be in that percentile because the people that have the time, dedication, application and talent to make it that far will always look at what we, the casual players can do, and make sure they do it that little bit better.

Tbh, my favorite rocket league moment is when every season is beginning because I've got chance to meet those players destroying GC game and that's so enjoying
