The Red Lodge, Bristol's Hidden Gem, Presented by Theresa Roche

A history documentary shot inside one of the last remaining Elizabethan luxury domestic interiors in South West England. This film traces the story of the intriguing men & women who lived in this magnificent oak panelled building, covering a time span from 1580 to the 1920s. The story conjures up some friendly "ghosts" of these men and women, many of whom were directly employed by the English government of their time and some of whom made significant contributions to science and social reform. The film features a stunning array of sumptuous costumes and is set against the opulent furnishings of this building that is often called "Bristol's Hidden Gem". Narrated and presented by Theresa Roche and made with the kind permission of Bristol City Museum & Art Gallery.
Galliard Films apologises for the sound quality at certain points in this documentary - maybe the real ghosts of the lodge did some extra creaking of floorboards during the film shoot!
