My first video (low-fi) which explores 4711, the oldest fragrance in my collection.
Things I forgot to mention:
Creator’s name is/was Wilhelm Muelhens, and he was German. The manufacturer is Maurer + Wirtz.
I need to do a better job of getting the bottle in the frame, ha!
Neroli is the name for distilled flowers from the bitter orange tree/plant. And this is mainly what this scent smells like!

I love this during the summer, on the hottest most humid days, mixed with a little peppermint oil.

I received this from my grandmother from Germany when I was 12, around 1989, I think it was the first perfume I ever smelled. I must buy it!

I love that you mentioned Tom Ford. My father ware 4711 when I was young and I love the way it smells. I have several bottles of Neroli Portofino mostly because as you said, 4711 doesn't stay with you. The Tom Ford may be expensive, but you smell it for days if applied to clothes. I also wear just Neroli, Sandalwood or Geranium oil (LOVE THIS ONE) in the summer they are just refreshing

Finally got myself a 800 mL bottle, before the Maurer & Wirtz (The maker is Mulhens). I'm hungering for an intense version of this, with the lemon verbena and bergamot amp up like in Cologne Imperiale. I'll experiment with either layering it over a more intense perfume or someone in Fragrantica said they mixed it with neroli oil to extend the fragrance.

Take care and God bless.

My grandmother and great grandmother both used this (as they were from austria and germany), whenever we went on a long trip in the car and i would get carsick she would dab this on a cottonball and let me smell it haha! Back then i hated it cause she always used it to make me throw up so i wasnt feeling sick anymore 😂 now i love it because it reminds me of them both ❤ and i have 4 versions incl the original!
