I've made it to ng+9 and it's nearly impossible to kill him with my duel occult curved sword bleed build. He's just getting to difficult.

I don’t know what Fromsoft was thinking putting this absolute powerhouse of a boss inside the first cave you spawn in. I, like many other players, were probably baited into the tutorial level thinking it would be a cakewalk and some free runes to start the journey.

But no. The first fogwall appears, and this absolute unit of a man shows up. The fight is gruelling and intense, teaching and drilling every fundamental of the game into the player’s head upon each death. Rolling, spacing and attack timings are important in this game and you are brutally punished if you can’t find the patterns. After what seems like a few hours of grinding, his healthbar finally drops to zero and you rejoice. You had done it, you had beaten Soldier of Godrick. But no “enemy felled” sign appears. No. The screen fades to black and a cutscene plays.

This is truly the moment you realize, he’s not stuck in here with you, you’re stuck in here with him as phase 2 starts.

Loved the reveal upon entering phase 3, I got chills hearing him tell us he was using a fake name and how his real title is "Soldier of God, Rick". Really big lore significance.
