I agree, ending was a bit weak. Otherwise, I found it original and enjoyed watching the plot unfold because every time I thought I knew where it was going, It took a turn in another direction. The jump scares were not cheap, they were effective and well executed.

I was surprised when I saw the many positive reviews for this movie because they have haven’t promoted it at all. I only knew it was coming out because they’ve shown the trailer in all of the movies I’ve seen this summer.

This was really scary (except the ending). When I was a kid in the 80s, there was a live action movie of the sequel to Alice in Wonderland called Alice Through the Looking Glass, and at one point she realizes she’s on the opposite side of the mirror in her house and her family can’t hear her and she’s trapped. Ever since then, that kind of idea has scared me - this movie gave me that feeling. Same with the subtlety of a stereo turning on when you don’t expect it, etc. I was hoping for a darker ending though.

Its such a deep movie. Hall gives an amazing performance. She's so likeable and on track to being one of my faves with her track record.

Yeah I know the jumpscare you are talking about and yes it actually scared me because everything went from 0 to 100 and it scared the shit out of me and literally said wtf after that, this movie just was insane and I personally think it has my pick for movie of the year

Great video! I watched this and I had a few questions afterwards that I feel I’ve now answered to myself. I really liked this film, maybe not quite as much as The Ritual but it’s early days. This movie was really well done. It all hinges on the acting in these smaller films and Rebecca Hall was outstanding along with the atmosphere throughout the film. I wish films like these got more attention.
