I know its only a v6 and you won’t get much from it but I love the support this car gets for modifications... tinkerers will be tinkerers regardless and its nice to see that this car actually has a lot of options as far as upgrades

Just bought a 2001 mustang v6 with gt body. 58000 original miles. Cheap gas and cheap insurance. My mom has a 2010 gt. Drivin them both alot and I like my little v6. Screw you haters out there. Its a nice clean safe reliable car with room for upgrades. and for 4800 bucks you cant beat it!

my wife got an 04 40th for 1k. it ran so horribly, only because the previous owners never took care of it, but now that parts are being replaced, she runs like a champion. v6 isnt bad

I bought another new edge mustang, now I've owned 4 and this is my first v6. I'm actually enjoying it. The mpg is decent, cheap insurance and its quiet and the automatic actually works well. Great 1500 bucks spent.

After doing some research to catch up on all things "Mustang" (considering getting another one after many, many years), I've come to the conclusion that the 99-04 pushrod V6 Mustang is the best bang for your buck DIY friendly "hotrod" of this age. The pushrod design is extremely reliable, more simple and a lot cheaper to work on (or even rebuild it yourself if you have to), just powerful enough to be fun, obviously able to be improved with bolt ons, all the way up to superchargers, turbos and nitrous, RWD, lighter than the V8 which is better for handling, cheaper on insurance and gas, cheaper to buy, and can be made to look just as good as the GT.

There is virtually NOTHING that comes close to matching this by any manufacturer available to Americans.

good stuff man my wife had a 2004 mustang 40th aniversary edition with the 3.9 instead of the 3.8, cold air, exhaust, computer chip, and gears it was peppy lol still alot slower than the lt1 camaro i used to have but atleast it was domestic and not import haha and we ended up getting a wj 4.7 v8 jeep grand cherokee instead... 4x4 is fun and all of us fit lol

Some test times would be nice on these power up kits. 0-60 40-70 1/4mile would all be nice

All honesty, That v6 looks pretty sexy.

Definitely going to try most of these on my 94 with similar parts. My 94 v6 makes such little power it's embarrassing. I do already have a dual exhaust.

I just LS swapped my V6 new edge.

It's actually fun now.

The 3.9 has quite a bit more horse power than that, mines pushing well at 355HP+ I have a full air intake, long tube headers, with a catless 3" X pipe thats just to behind transmission ported heads, ported intake manifold plate ported intake manifold, ported throttlebody, a aftermarket cam, a tune an I run mine on the highest octane fuel in my state which is 93 out of 87 89 93,
Thought about porting my block an putting 4.6 or 5.0 pistons in it but I'm still in the thought process of that for now..

Well you can go to Super six motor sports and get a power pack that gives you 80 more hp than stock while being NA.

Just recently bought a 2000 Mustang V6 for $900. The car has 133, 000 miles and minor rust on the side panels. Nothing wrong with the engine at all, no check engine or anything.

Sorry if offending any V6 SN95 owners, but a base 2.5 Duratec V6 from a Contour can keep up and may beat this SN95 V6. A base 2.5 V6 can make close to 170hp stock and has a torque number of 165ft-lbs. To be honest, Ford should've put the 3.0 Duratec V6 in the Mustang, very light and has anywhere between 200-240hp. The 3.0 Duratec will be the engine that will replace my 2.5 SVT V6 in my daily Contour, once the engine has lived a good life, I will put the old SVT block on a shelf.
