E313 - In this episode I received a special A3000 in for repair. A recap job gone bad. Overcharged for poor work and left with a non functioning Amiga. The improper use of a solder sucker results in catastrophic damage to traces and buslines resulting in a lengthy repair. Does this Special A3000 live on? watch and see....

Chris, Remember "Flash Gordon" and that great song by Queen? They called him the Saviour of the Universe. Well I reckon you are the Saviour of the Amigaverse.
Excellent work. Always love your videos.

Fantastic! I hope there will be a video like a step by step repair including schematics and so on.
I would be great to see the effort, tools and knowledge that is required to fix something like this board!
Just imagining all the Amiga's that would benefit or even been saved because of vid's like that :).
Thanks Mr. Edwards for sharing your knowledge and saving Amiga's!

Massive undertaking. As soon as I heard audio, I said "You're back in business"

Fantastic work as always Chris, saving one Amiga at a time. Though I generally don't like to shame people, it would be good to know which repairer not to go to considering how hard it is to get these machines and the parts. We need an avoid list.

Looks like they de-soldered those caps with a shotgun

Enjoyable video as always. Another system brought back from the edge, no from absolute death really.

Chris, you do such a great job repairing these Amiga boards. To me, it seems like much of the work is in desoldering and soldering properly (aside of course from fault finding) without damaging things. I would LOVE if you did a video that featured just your desoldering & soldering methods. I know you do snippets in several videos, but one that covered that would be fantastic. Thank you!

Looks like a result of extreme overconfidence. Or somebody intent on destroying whatever possible. Good thing the board came to you eventually. 👍‍

Blows my mind that there are 3rd party repairs that do such a horrible job. I could accept ruining one via because you didn't realize how delicate the board is vs the equipment you were using. But to just continue on and ruin the whole board is insane. Glad you were able to fix it.
