The Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress is possibly one of the most famous of the various heavy bombers that saw service during the second world war.

Whilst not capable of carrying the heaviest payloads, it was well known for its sheer wealth of defensive gun positions with the aim of keeping enemy fighters at bay due to shared defensive firepower of close formations of this aircraft.

I would argue the Dam busters 19 converted Lancaster bombers were more significant, better known and had a greater impact on bringing the war in Europe to an end. But I’m bias because my dad was in the RAF 👍🇬🇧🌈♥️

I have this kit. Failed to build it till now. But the details are fantastic and i found decals for legendary Ye Olde Pub flown by Charlie Brown. Hope to get it done soon.

I have one of these versions I've built a few in the past. I think a more updated version of this kit really needs to be made. The older one is pretty simple to build. But an upgrade would be great.

Built 1/48 in similar scheme of this kit. I'd go satin finish with bombs and internal flaps and silver leaf for natural metal but looks good.
