Показать описание
A review of a 1946 Revised Standard Version (RSV) New Testament. This book has a sewn binding and thick, opaque paper with art-gilt edges. It is printed in a large (12.5 pt), bold font in a single-column paragraph format, with references at page bottom. The cover is genuine leather. My copy was once owned by Miss Ruth Walk, who was a Methodist, at one time a sponsor of the Epworth League.

I thought that this R.S.V. N.T. looked familiar, and then I recalled that I have an early  printing of the R.S.V. entire Bible  in two volumes, the N.T. looking much like the 1946 one here. I suspect that the O.T. in its own separate covers was meant for those who had the N.T. already to add the O.T. to the earlier published N.T.

I've heard that the original RSV omits the ending of Mark and John 7:53-8:11 without putting it in a footnote or sectioning it off. Does your copy include those passages? Thanks!

I really like this font😮😳 The spacing is excellent to my eyes.
The chapter numbers and also the uppercase letters look so cool, I wonder why they stopped using this font?
This new reinvention of the wheel printing endeavors are honestly not needed IMHO.

Just curious, but do you work in the field of ministry or with books or something else involving the curating of old texts. I only ask because you know a great deal about these texts, and your presentations are very professional. Great Bible!
