NCCSE 2017 Collaborative Parent Award - Carol Jimenez - Ability Awareness

If I were the bragging type, I would brag that out of all the parents in 14 entire school districts, NCCSE chose me! But that would be terribly inaccurate, because the fact is, that I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with a large group of people toward a common goal - Ability Awareness.

I wouldn't have been able to make my contribution without their contributions. So instead, I'll say that out of 14 entire school districts, NCCSE chose us! They chose to award a very hard working and dedicated team of many, for our work in the promotion of Ability Awareness and creating an inclusive school environment, where all students aren't just accepted, but are celebrated. So, although they handed the award to me, the three people who introduced me and many, many others in the district share in this acknowledgement of our work. I look forward to keeping the Ability Awareness momentum going.

NCCSE - The North Coastal Consortium for Special Education is the SELPA (Special Education Plan Area) made up of fourteen school districts in the north coastal area of San Diego County. The districts include: Bonsall Union, Cardiff, Carlsbad Unified, Del Mar Union, Encinitas Union, Fallbrook Union Elementary, Fallbrook Union High, Oceanside Unified, Rancho Santa Fe, San Dieguito Union High, San Marcos Unified, Solana Beach, Vallecitos and Vista Unified.
