I heard that liking and disliking cilantro has to do with genes. If you have a certain gen, cilantro tastes like soap to you. At least that is how it is described.


My genes are a bit off... i have that with fresh parsley

This is such an easy and tasty recipe! I will definitely make this for my brother when he comes back to the US! :D

Also, people who hate cilantro say it tastes like soap to them. I would have dreaded it if my taste buds evolved to that in any point in my life cuz we Indians add lotsa cilantro too!

There's a Japanese restaurant back home called Uomaru. The first time I had their tarter sauce, I was just expecting *regular* tarter sauce. But no, that egg in it, OMG, it was a revelation, and fricking delicious!! They only give it when u order something deep fried. Best tarter sauce I've ever had!

It's actually true that fresh eggs do not peel well. Fresh eggs are best for fried eggs because the whites will be firmer. Just something fun I thought might interest you. Greetings from Germany

I puncture the bottom of the egg (the big part) to release the air, then I wait for the water to boil before putting the eggs in the pot. Right afterward, the eggs go into the ice bath. Fresh or older eggs, this works consistently.

Salt or vinegar in the water when boiling the eggs makes the shells remove in one easy swoop, or at least easier and doesn’t remove the outside of the egg with the shell 🥚
