Desperation Sprite Pie (TIKTOK inspired)
Показать описание
DESPERATION SPRITE PIE
Historically, desperation pies, AKA water pies, were born out of a seasonal “desperation” more often than an economic one. Because when you’re desperate for pie, you don’t want to wait until the berries ripen or for the Autumn apple harvest. You want pie right now - even if that means you're eating mostly pie crust (which I find is the best part) and if all you have on hand is cream, you’ll make a sugar cream pie. If all you have on hand is some molasses, you can make a shoofly pie. And if all you have lying around is some Sprite, you’ll find a way to use that in a pie, too! Well, Someone on tik tok sure did. I just turned it into an aesthetics video to test the YouTube algorithm. 😂🤣😂🤣 Enjoy!
Yields one 9" pie
WHAT YOULL NEED
1 9" frozen pie crust, thawed
1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
1/4 cup (34g) all purpose flour
1 1/2 cups or 12oz can of Sprite
2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
5 Tbsp. of unsalted butter, thinly sliced
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon (optional)
Preheat oven to 400F.
Bake for 30 minutes.
Drop the heat down to 375F and bake for another 30 minutes.
Let it cool completely and then chill for 3 hours.
