Fossilized feather stars have actually been found in the midwestern United States since the area was once covered in water. Bite marks were also found on these fossils, suggesting that urchins existed at the same time.

I love these videos!

She’s a magician as every video makes my world just a little bigger and more awesome, and I feel a little smarter afterwards.

The supermodels of the sea star world. I bet other passive-aggressive sea stars sit around saying things like, "Well someone just paid for their plastic surgeon's next holiday."

fun fact about these little eldritch buddies...
as a species; they are older than blood itself
before internal blood developed animals would use just open SEAWATER to oxygenate their cells.
and in fact we humans kinda can too. In military submarines people are taught that without supplies of blood transfusions or saline their highly purified saltwater can keep people alive instead of saline for a while, the sea is literally in their veins!
