I always said that if I ever came into that much money, there would be stipulations to claim or receive any of it. They would have to literally do something totally holistic and wholesome first and/or with (some) of it.

I inherited $125k when my dad died. I was strung out on opiates and all kinds of drugs. I’m now 6 years sober from opioids. I spent pretty much all of that money being an idiot. But I’m not dead. After I got off of drugs, I was also supposed to inherit my grandparents house and my mom just took it bc she needed the money. Kind of screwed up my plans to make money from turning it into an Airbnb, renting it out, or living in it… I believe if someone wants you to inherit something, no one else gets to step in and tell you it’s not yours. People do what they want anyways.
