Just a tip worth trying, from a long time foam eartip lover, don't even bother squishing the tip. I find that when using the proper insertion method of pulling up on the top of the ear to straighten the ear canal, just inserting the foam tipped IEM gives the best fit and evenly compresses all sides of the foam... Worth a try... Haven't squished my tip in years, just shove it in.

Crin in his video did say the blue 2 was tuned with foam tips and that’s why they included so many pairs

I appreciate the honest, nuanced assessment, and not just a vague OMGOSH amazing type of review. Keep up the great work!

It’s funny that in 2025 we’re still evaluating cables. Like, shouldn’t every IEM cable be perfect by now? If some companies can do cables on some budget IEMs with no microphonics, no tangling, nice weight, good chin slider, why isn’t every company doing at least that on every IEM? Why is there such a thing as a bad cable?

I am with you about those Truthear 2 pin cables. They are the best inexpensive cable on the market.

Great Review as usual mark 😊

You sound a bit under weather, take care mark.

In my opinion it makes for a great basshead iem with that impedence adapter. Should check it out for myself!

Woo hoo Moondrop Lan mentioned, it's seriously underrated, my favorite cheapie btw.

Mark, your reviews just keep getting better. 🙌 So concise and informative. (You even have cut out your idioms that in the past made you sound anchronistic.)

They look very nice. Hopefully the uncomfortable nozzle lip isn't as bad as the original as you say. Good job on the Squig with the adapter and without.

Hope you feel better, Mark 🤙

I was hoping these would be a budget contender to the Deuce but it doesn’t quite seem like it is.

Next Truthear collab: "Zero: Green" and "Zero: Green 2" to follow up with the RGB naming scheme

Just received my Blue 2 tonight, don't use the foam tips even though it was tuned with foam tips in mind but instead use some wide bore eartips like Moon Drop Spring eartips instead. The Moon Drop Spring eartips drastically turns the Blue 2 into pretty wide sound stage IEMs while toning down the bass slightly without killing the bass, bringing forth the mids and treble all at the same time.

Get it for the 5 ohm resistor - then pair that with the 10 from Red and you have 3 possible options to tune any IEM. I also bought a few higher Ohm resistor adaptors like 70, 100, 150 to experiment with. 5 is a nice little option.

I got my Blue 2 headphone today. It has exceptionally excellent low frequencies with plenty of weight and texture, even without bass plug. The midrange is average, and the vocals don’t stand out very much; the treble is moderate, but the sibilance is slightly out of control, making some female vocals sound rather dry. The soundstage extends well horizontally and is adequate vertically, so the vocals don’t appear to be overly forward.

The separation and imaging are acceptable. It’s quite comfortable to wear; although the cable looks stiff, it is actually very soft. The appearance is also attractive.

Personally, I would use an EQ to boost around 1–3 kHz and cut around 6 kHz, which would make these headphones more pleasant for long listening sessions without causing fatigue.

Looking forward to full reviews of the Crinear Daybreak and Meta.

Other than the accessories and nozzle size is it a huge jump in upgrade if you're coming from the truthear zero blue? Get well soon mark!

If this wasn't a foam tip IEM, I'd get it. The impedance adapter solution fixes the harsh treble by adding bass but it makes the rest of the FR quite weak...

I despise foam tips so there's where the fun stops...

Is the problem that they went for Harman again? 😅
