👉 Learn about sequences. A sequence is a list of numbers/values exhibiting a defined pattern. A number/value in a sequence is called a term of the sequence. There are many types of sequence, among which are: arithmetic and geometric sequence.
An arithmetic sequence is a sequence in which each term of the sequence is obtained by adding a pre-determined value, called the common difference, to the preceding term. A geometric sequence is a sequence in which each term of the sequence is obtained by multiplying a pre-determined value, called the common ratio, to the preceding term.

Needed this reminder even as a civil engineer at university. I really appreciate it!

It's amazing what we can forget. This was exceedingly easy to follow, so thanks :)

this was explained so clearly!! I've searched everywhere online and couldn't find anything as clear as this, I have a maths test tomorrow, hopefully this is on it!!

is this from the grade 11 course "Pre calculus 30S"? I just moved to manitoba from ontario here in canada and the math courses are SO different. none the less I want to thank you for this vid, it helped me get started :)

Working with high school math teachers I have received pushback on using function notation at all when discussing recursively defined sequences. By any chance have you run across this? It is the start of IM's new Alg 2

Thanks! Cool channel.

lol "Sam.." Nice video man. Cheers!

This is clear but why do we need two notations (function vs subscript) for basically the same thing?

How about using 0?
I remember seeing a 0 in that place.
Does that mean that it's just like:
f(0) = 3(0)+2 => 2

Can we get him a round of applause for making it easy? 👏👏👏👏

*Yes, I have a Gacha profile picture. What about it?*

I love how obvious it is when there is a disturbance in the class. He stops for one second, furrows his eyebrows until the student ceases, and continues. He must have respect among his students to so easily keep the train on the tracks.

I'm co fused on how to do the ones with subscrypts on both sides for an example Xn+2=Xn+1+Xn and I have to find X4 and X5 when X1 is 1 and X2 is 1

what is the difference between "T sub n" and "u sub n"?

2:22 "i would say ... " ?
did you say "a sub 1"?
a sub of 1, shortened to "a s'of 1"?
a's of 1?
ace of won, what?

it sounds like it should be "a sub 1" but the consonant sounds like a lip on teeth: "fff" or "vvv".
my professors always said it the same way and to this day I have no idea what is the spoken English.
