This song really hit me today.

A good few years ago, I remember having a conversation with my mum and saying how I didn't feel I was treated any differently as a woman at work.

Since then, I've watched the careers of talented, hard women stagnate whilst their male peers sail to the top.

I've been told I 'lack experience' despite a decade long CV.

I've twice been replaced for a man.

I've been patronised and had my years of experience and expertise undermined and ignored in both professional and amateur settings.

I've been harassed by a teenage boy for daring to ask him to turn his Tik Tok videos off speaker.

I've been gas-lighted, ignored and lied to in the face of anti social noise and behaviour by a group of men.

I walk past young men wearing balaclavas in shopping centres with absolute impunity, worried what weapons they might be carrying.

I've sat inches away from a young man kicking and punching a train door.

Like so many other women, I calculate the risk of every person that passes or gets close to me on the street, or public transport.

I've watched violent misogynist influencers claim wealth and fame.

I've watched a misogynist twice get elected to the White House.

Thea nails this entire female experience with such beauty, and such brevity. This song is so powerful.

Thea has been a prolific songwriter for many years and she still creates songs that I can play over and over again and never get tired of. I could say "Why hasn't she made it to being a superstar, she deserves it?" but she never compromises and is an artist of great integrity. The things that hold her back from this are the same things that make her such a great artist and human being.

I was lucky enough to be at Exeter gig, I wonder if she will ever get the recognition she deserves. Told her after the show that I first heard her when she did a live spot on Noel Edmonds show. A great introduction to her amazing talent. If she could get some mainstream coverage now with this incredible material she would be world famous.
