Stuffed Baked Apples

Join in the Great Snow Dance festivities with this simple sweet from The Silver Chair!
(Adult supervision required.)
4 apples
1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1 tsp cinnamon
sprinkle of nutmeg
1/2 cup raisins (and/or walnuts, pecans, currants)
4 tsp butter
Preheat oven to 375F.
Core apples, but not all the way through! Just deep enough to make a good chamber for the filling. Widen it, if necessary (you'll want about an inch in diameter), and scoop out all seeds.
In a bowl, combine sugar, spices, and raisins (and/or other fillings).
Stuff the apples with filling and place into your baking dish.
Pour just enough water into the dish to cover the bottom.
Add a pat of butter to the top of each apple.
Bake for 30-45, till tender. (You don't want mushy, so check on it to make sure you don't overbake!)
Serve immediately.
