Hi. Congratulations on your material. It's beautiful. I'm new to MAC and Quicktime. I have a set of timelapse pics shot in Montserrat viewing the volcano in the sunset hours. I want very much to make a video of this sequence of pics.

All I have is iPhoto and I don't know how to import sequence and select only the pics that I need from the "Montserrat" event. Is there anyway to easily import from an event in iPhoto to QT or should I create an album in iPhoto only with the pics that I need?

@WeShallNeverStop try Apple Intermediate Codec. I believe thats what iMovie converts imported footage to anyway.

@purvistv Yes these shots where taken out in the country with very little light pollution. Do a google search for Dark Sky Finder, it will help you find some dark locations in your area. Each shot is a 30sec exposure, ISO set at 3200. I was using the Canon 16-35mm f2.8 lens. Thanks!!!

@brindabellaoffroad Thanks, The Milky Way shots where 30second exposures, shot every 35 seconds. ISO was set at 3200, White Balance 4500K

I'm assuming you're shooting these somewhere out in the country with very little light pollution? I'm in Los Angeles, and I would love to shoot something like this, but I probably can't without taking quite a drive. How long are you exposing each shot, and what type of lens do you use? Thanks, love the videos!

Thanks for posting this Harles99. I'm having problems with my hero 2 footage in quicktime 7. It creates like a stutter/stop effect when I play it all the way through in quicktime 7 and this is even before exporting it to a pro res 422 LT file. I called go pro and they were useless as usual. Any thoughts? Many thanks in advance.

@Harles99 Sweet! I'll have to try that. My 5D needs some TLC and a new reason to come out of the bag :-)

I tried doing my first timelapse video today with my GoPro 960. I got the video together and it looked excellent...on Quicktime Pro. When I tried uploading it to youtube it only uploaded as"360p" instead of the usual "720p". Do I have to convert the format?

@chargerfun34 Haaa, Thanks, yeah it gets pretty hot. Its my old mac that I leave at my parents house, I'm ready for it to blow up so I can get a new one lol.

Hey man, great tutorial.Just one question, The result of your video is something like 10 seconds. If i want to increase the time that the video lasts, what kind of change i must do? Change the frames per second? Something else? Thanks in advance.

I followed that process but when quicktime opens the file it just shows 3-4 seconds of black screen. Does that mean that quicktime is still compiling the photos? I which case should i wait a few seconds for the images to appear?
