Great effort, people go below poverty line when 1 member of the family gets sick.

Best wishes to the scheme, which if implemented can successfully project the idea of a caring and Welfare State.

instead of somebody from tribune, they should have called somebody from the wire!
man, there are so many challenges to this scheme :
1.its boosting private hospitals more rather than strengthening the public health care.
2.they just changed the name of primary health center to wellness center .they have just allocated 80, 000 rs per center, most of these centers do not even have water connection or toilets .80, 000 is very less.
3.previously they have promised 1 lakh per family ..thye could only give 30, 000
4.they only focus on in patient care ..while majority patients spend 67% spend on out patient expenditure .

p.s the lady shubnam singh sounds like a school principal .good english but no good points to the discussion

Very poor state of debate, unexpected from RSTV. Am sure there must be pressure from VP.

I see following challenges to the scheme:

1. It seems to be a way of making private hospitals rich as there's no way u can control charges charged by them to claim huge insurance amounts.

2. We should strengthen our Govt hospital infrastructure and human resources so that people doesn't have to go to private hospitals. Such shallow schemes seems to be primary in favour of corporate/private hospitals.

3. A poor man will always first look for the Govt hospital as his hope in case of any ailments instead of relying on insurance model as we are aware of poor insurance claim success ratio's in India.

And most importantly, there seems to be no much opposition from opposition parties as both ruling and opposition party affiliated private/corporate hospitals are going be benefited at the cost of public money. It's the worst form of Nexus between the two.

'Big Picture' needs checks & balances. It has become more of a 'propaganda picture' now.

There is no quality content in the whole discussion. Nobody told how they are going to implement this scheme. Majority of the time is allotted to Aditi Tondon who is praising govt. without any factual data .

the synergy in comments and reviews from a journalist and a govt professional makes it a good debate and the scheme seems to be good..worth the time, , well, that being said lets see whether or not its a good initiative after its official inception ..we wait in anticipation

But a big issue in implementation is what if empanelled hospitals starts charging unethically as we have seen some news of private hospitals in NOIDA etc. and they would bill 5 lakhs for a small disease just for their own benefits

If NDA is able to implement ll visit each and every house in my area and ask people to vote for NDA in 2019.

India moving in the same direction as in western countries, I will not be surprised that one day you have to have thousands if not hundreds of rupees to pay month on month to insurance if you have to visit doctor and get health care, and it will not be reachable for poor and middle class people

though scheme is ambitious but one must consider failure of insurance based Obama health care. private provision of health care at public cost is always prone to misuse by private partner...why can't we go by success of public health care of UK AND FRANCE. what we need is strengthening of our primary care, medical education system n health awareness at ground level

I am very sorry to say that like other institutions, RSTV is also falling prey in the hand of BJP, "NO CRITICAL ANALYSIS " has been done, how 50 crores people can be covered in 2000 cr it's just 40 rs a person? budgeting and financilal provosions are silently ignored in this one sided debate.

Wait...what about the thriving middle class? The ever increasing healthcare expenses forces us to look at govt hospitals which are gasping for reform already. Moreover, the lack of human development and the exclusion of middle class doesn't match the potential of Healthcare what a superpower nation should have.
