Proptosis (of the eye)

This is a common eye emergency--especially in dogs with short faces and shallow eye sockets.

Transcript:
Your dog's eye has popped out. Or, more accurately, it's become trapped in front of the eyelids. This is far more common than you might imagine, and it is a surgical emergency. Our priorities are to get your dog comfortable and save vision in that eye if at all possible. Unfortunately, most dogs with this type of injury are blinded in that eye, and that eye can have other complications or problems after we fix this. We're going to anesthetize your dog and replace the globe--the eyeball--inside of the orbit--the bony socket. Then we're going to sew the eyelids over it to hold it in place while the swelling comes down.

This is so instructional. I've been trying to search for an insightful video similar to yours that breaks down everything in this YouTube vid. 👏 👌Your vid is like the channel of Dr Ethan. Dr Ethan's explanations are actually informative and I learned a lot for diet. He is the most informative medical student on YouTube and he teaches medical school.

I suggest you check his YouTube out and give Dr Ethan a like! ➡️ #DoctorEthan
