For those that want to solder, remember that solder, ESPECIALLY lead solder, requires good ventilation (a fume extractor is ideal)

Lots of people use gel flux (classic 100) or nokorode paste flux. My preferance is novocan liquid flux but you need to be very sparing (it splutters)

Hi, I’m curious if you take any special safety precautions and if you do what they are? I personally don’t have access to a workshop/ outdoor space where I can work so I’m trying to figure out the safest way to do stained glass in a two bedroom apartment. I’ve read that over time lead residue can build up on your walls and surfaces from soldering and wondered if you knew any tips for working with lead solder safely as well as minimizing the spread of grinding dust? Any help would be appreciated as I’m new to the craft :)

I don't know why but I absolutely love the sound of the scoring glass is it a possibility to make a short of just u scoring the glass

The waffle grid mat is a cool idea!! I've acquired a bunch of supplies to hopefully start stained glass, bit have been worrying abt cleaning up glass shards & the glass grinder shards. Where's the link for the mat? Is it specifically a glass working item, or would it be found w/ a different intended purpose/name/category?

I think i would enjoy it but I know that it's not vegan friendly since animal fat is used for soldering (the flux used is not vegan)
