I think calling this bike a V2 was a big mistake by Ducati. It has 37 less hp, costs more and doesn't have a single sided swing arm. Who in their right mind would buy this over the previous V2? That being said, I do still think its a great bike in its own right BUT bad choice for the name. What do you guys think about the new model?

I love the two exhaust pipes coming up under the seat because it reminds me of the older ones. That pipe coming up directly under the seat was a clear indication back then in the 90s that that was Ducati. Most companies had it on the side. I like to see it under the seat.

I agree 100% on the mistake of not having a single sided swing arm. That is one of the first features a person notices on my Diavel and it was always present for years on most of their models. It’s an iconic feature and what set them apart from other manufacturers back in the day.

Same money you can have a 2018 V4s no wings, sleeker 200+hp

V2B with full Akra is still superb. Perfectly balanced in every way.

You also forgot that the Desmo motor is changed to traditional spring over valve.

A US gallon weighs 6 lbs. So a 4 gallon tank equates to 24 lbs. The power to weight ratio of the SF V2S is near as damn it the same as a Street Triple RS - and nobody ever says that bike doesn't make enough power. My friend and I regular swap my RS for his MR-Competition, and on the road there's never anything in it. We've done a million track days in the fast group, and I think saying the V2 a is 'beginners' bike is doing it a disservice IMHO. Power is nice, but light-is-right!

I am reserving any judgement before I ride one, but the lack of power is not justified with the lack of weight since they admitted the bike is slower.

I think Ducati named it Panigale because they wanted to keep the Panigale/Streetfighter connection going. Personally, I would have preferred keeping it Supersport, but either way someone was going to complain. 😂 It does resemble the V4 as well, so the cards do lay in Panigale’s favor. I will say the tech and switchgear are a step up, which is a plus, but the price will shy away many for a couple years, but I believe it will bounce back and win people over. The new V2 engine is non-desmo, as many point out, but it sounds Ducati, and really, unless you’re a Desmo freak, you won’t notice the difference because valve springs aren't as weak as they used to be. That said, compared to the previous-gen Pani and Streetfighter, the single-sided swingarm and power were a plus. The 2025's aren't a looker, but over time the newcomers won't care. Hopefully Ducati has a vision for the future!

My 2014 KTM SMCR 690 has 70hp at the wheel and can hold its own and more with anything in the bends that isn’t ridden by a real talent. This bike will be a weapon.

Did anybody notice the clock time on the dash road layout? How cool!

Totally agree that riding liter bikes on the street is way overkill. I have lost interest in the 200+ hp bikes. I always recommend the Triumph Street Triple as a great back roads bike. I do miss the SSSA on the new V2. I just picked us a Streetfighter V2 and did the Arrow exhaust, upmap, sprint filter, suspension set up, and sever cosmetic changes. I really love the bike. I sold a 2022 Triumph Speed Triple 1200RS for it.

I know a lot of purists don't like it, and I don't care at all. This is the perfect bike for me, my skill level, and my local track, which is a pretty tight, twisty track. I wonder what the power to weight ratio is, vs the previous V2 - I'll bet it's not that far off, with that weight savings - at some point today, I'll do the math.

I get that the purists hate losing things like the single sided swingarm (which I miss aesthetically), and Desmo engines...but I just don't care. If it makes a better bike, what I want is the best possible bike. And even more to that - and feel free to call me selfish, here - but I want the best possible bike for me. I think this is it. I'll probably wait a year, let them work out the 1st gen bugs, but I'm almost definitely going to buy one.

Appreciate your point of view, of course, Jaret, but in this case I disagree.

Never find the base base models it seems like. BEAUTY though, nice!

I agree - it should have been called new supersport

Next build series for sure! Amazing machine, i honestly think they’re trying to make this bike be the “Ducati daily driver” more street friendly then track. They have the v4 for that. I think it’s perfect you can’t even use the full potential of this bike out on the streets. you can’t even probably even notice the hp difference bc of how light this bike is which explains why the track times are barely different.

The first 50sec's of this video completely agree. I dont know why marketing the bike as the lightest Panigale is enough for a customer to ignore the decrease in power. That shoulda been a HUGE plus to seperate it above all other competitors with the same HP as prior V2s. I was looking at this, but now not sure despite all the good stuff Jaret pointed out. Too bad honestly

I think its needs another 15 bhp for the money but looks cool
