If you have a sick or injured bird in your possession I can not help this bird in any way it is strongly advised to contact a local vet or wildlife official before any decisions are made. It is very easy to do more harm than good when handling any wildlife.

Blues facial expression seemed so at peace and trusting. He didn't show signs of being nervous at all with you, Leslie😉

If you look closely, you can see his anticipation of you throwing the peanut, his mouth open slightly just before you toss it he knows what you’re doing. How cool

The blue jays who visit my back yard have been getting a lot of peanuts thanks to you, Lesley. :D

They aren't catching them in mid-air or eating from my hand, but whenever they see me out on my deck they'll either perch in a nearby tree where I can see them or land on the deck railing. When I throw a peanut for them, they'll watch until it hits the ground, drop down, pick it up, then fly away with their prize. Sometimes they don't fly far, so I get to hear them in the tree trying to crack open the shell.

I just love watching you interact with your bird friends ☺️ you are such an inspiration !!! I am building some relationships with my jays here - I shake the tub of peanuts and I hear their little noises. They swoop down so fast that it's like they think they are stealing them 😂😂 And of all things - I now have a Red Bellied Woodpecker who is doing it too! And crow babies came with parents today - wow!!! Thank you so much for the joy you have brought with all the fun videos and education you share 😊

Blue knows the action word "Catch".
Thanks for sharing a moment in the woods with you and Blue. I needed that.

Just adorable! Since we moved south from Chicago to NC…I don’t see Blue Jays anymore..and haven’t gotten comfortable with the local crows! Enjoy your friend, Leslie - he’s wonderful!💕

What a sweet Blue Jay! I feed my Stellers Jay every day, but they have never become tame. Still, they're fascinating to watch and have living in my yard. 🐦

Wonderful video, I had a pet European Jay ( rescued as a chick from a cat and hand reared ) for nearly seven years, she was incredibly tame intelligent mischievous and beautiful. She’d chuckle, flap her wings and raise her crest whenever she saw me each morning and she’d accompany me on my paper round and was well known in the area. She was free flying and only locked in at night and after a bath ( she’d bathe till she was soaked and couldn’t fly till she dried off ) for her safety. She’d disappear for the same 3 weeks every year ( I assumed it to be the breeding period ) but always returned, thin and exhausted but happy. That was 30+ years ago and I still miss her today. 👍❤️
