I was playing as him all day when he came out and he honestly doesn’t feel that big to play, he has fortified for a reason yes but to me he feels like a pathfinder size legend

Being able to lock on to teamates with the ult is so good, my teamate got knocked in the open and I just jimped to them put down cover and go the revive

To recharge the knockdown shield you can just drop it and pick it up to recharge

This prob is not new info but when testing him I found you can drop you knock down shield and pick it up for a free recharge

I think he's great. We are holding tunnels and key choke points in storm point way more effectively. We can also push weird spots such as tall zips since he can spam his tactical and recon if danger is at the top.

If you drop your knockdown shield then pick it up it will be recharged

Also something to note is that one of the best counter to Newcastle is rampart’s sheila, it really takes down his tactical and ult really quickly

You can also change the cover direction of his ult mid air. So if you need to run from a fight and you use your ult, before you land turn to whatever side you want to cover and that’s where his ult will be placed. I see too many Newcastle’s ult to get away just to be knocked because their wall provides no cover.

I played some arenas and you really under rated the revive shield. New castle felt kind of OP, didn’t play as him but every game I played he was my only issue. Maybe I’m just getting used to him but he seemed op with the movable shield and than they can sit it and pop in n out like a gibby

Another tip for newcastle is when using his tactical its good to use it to push up on an enemy. I used it first game on to get my first dub of the season. The last guy was kinda camping on a roof & I got on the roof & pushed up w my tactical & kept peaking out of it as I was slowly moving up & chipping away damage. Thinking of his tactical as gibby bubble plays

Favorite Newcastle move is to flank, hit a few shots then bail with the ult to get back to teammates if it goes poorly.
