Veronica Lynn (practically born blind) began singing in church at age nine, and she won her first talent show at age 11. At age 15, Veronica performed
in the Hal Jackson Talented Teen Competition, sharing the stage with a young Johnny Gill. After competing (and winning) numerous talent shows, Veronica won the Showtime at the Apollo amateur competition twice in 1988, included a much-heralded victory over future Hip Hop/Soul icon Lauryn Hill.

In 1993, Veronica signed a recording deal with RCA Records affiliate
PMD Records, with the help of her Southern CT State University classmate Parish Smith of the legendary rap group, EPMD.

During that time Veronica collaborated with many well-known artists, including Roger Troutman, Gerald Levert, Lalah Hathaway, and Shirley Murdock. She worked with producers such as Mark Morales, Mark Rooney, and Kenneth Crouch and finished recording an album for RCA Records, entitled "Diamond In The Rough."

The album never saw the light of day and excist on Promotional Cassette only!
