hey steph! I was wondering (and you may not know the answer, but a response would be super helpful!) how much does school name matter for this field? Should I worry too much about where I get the degree from as long as they’re COAMFTE accredited?

Hi @Steph Anya, I just found your channel. Thank you for providing resources, questions, and value. My question, I got accepted to a Psychology graduate program in California. However, I'm now considering studying abroad either in Canada or Europe. After graduating, I'd like to reside in Europe. What's your suggestion how to find an accredited school? Who do I need to speak with? Questions I need to ask to gain more clarity on my goals and plans. I'm in the beginning phase of my journey to graduate school. I appreciate your insight and feedback. I really wanna go to Cal Lu but now with all these tiny requirements and all these CACREP and COAMFT stuff it’s making me really stressed out. Cal Lu has 2 different campus and has one site clinical offices. It’s a great option and is a little expensive but it’s good for me. I want to get my masters and move states to get my license in Colorado I saw the internship requirements and I know what they need to get license but these other tiny factors are freaking me out.

Hi Steph, super helpful video! I was recently accepted into the M.S. in MFT program at USC (not COAMFTE accredited) and the M.A. in MFT program at USD (COAMFTE accredited). I’m really conflicted on which program to attend. Any thoughts/insights about these programs would be greatly appreciated!

About to get my associates, but I have no clue what I’m supposed to do while I’m in school to get my bachelors. Am I suppose to get relevant experience during this time? Or is it a part of the masters process?

I’m stuck between marriage and family therapy and school counseling. I want to start applying for a graduate program next fall, but for school counseling I have to teach for two years and I’ve been teaching only for half of a year. Anywho, thanks for posting this!

Hi! This was really helpful, but I have a question. So, I aspire to become an MFT. I’m currently in undergrad (major: Human Learning and Development) and I plan to finish within the next 2-3 years. After that, I want to attend grad school. I’m in Georgia. After undergrad, I have two options: PhD from UGA or Master’s from VSU .. Ik a lot of MFTs have a Master’s .. what would a PhD do for me that a Master’s couldn’t? If you know, could you possibly compare and contrast the two?
