Several years after the Vaiont Dam disaster the authorities were prosecuting someone for manslaughter on the ground that he had been walking on Monte Toc a few hours before the landslide, and the authorities were asserting that the vibration of his footsteps was the trigger for the landslide. He was eventually found not guilty.

over 2, 000 died, the water went over the dam by almost 250 meters traveling in excess of 100kph, once entering the first villages in the lower area it slowed to roughly 80kph wiping out all those villages.

You can now visit the dam and walk across it and what use to be a lake is the mountain behind the dam and the river was diverted. The dam was built so well but the soil composition of the mountains above the dam were a perfect disaster waiting to happen.

Кажется платина стала причиной обвала так как ранее были вмешательства со стороны людей при его возведении. Оно должно было произойти и скорее всего лбди все должны были знать что жить в таких опасных и экстремальных условиях не безопасно для жизни. Оползень шла по наклону вниз, так как деревня распологалась ниже яруса уровня почвы, им не удалось спастись

I couldn't live everyday not knowing when the water is gonna come rushing down. I get anxiety just thinking about it. I wouldn't have been able to sleep at night living in any one of those villages 😮
