Full tutorial: Tailored Balmain Prom Suit Upcycle! | Flare Pants, Take In Blazer, Low Cut Vest

My first prom upcycle 😰

Tailoring and alterations are not on my top-of-the-list things to do, but for @cammrayyy I had to make an exception! He was inspired by this Balmain suit worn by Jeremy Pope and I knew it could be upcycled from a regular three piece suit. So we ordered one from Amazon and an extra pair of pants from the same seller.

I was nervous because the suit was quite big on him to start with which meant that I’d have to take it in quite a bit. If you’ve ever tried to downsize any garment, then you know that’s really dangerous. The whole thing can start to get distorted.

BUT we pulled through and made it happen with a little upcycle magic… 🙏🏾

So what do you think? I’m loving the 70s vibe!

How is this an upcycle if you bought multiple new items of clothing for it? It wouldn't even work for vintage things since usually, suits don't come with two pairs of pants
