Dear Christians...STOP Fear-Mongering! 🛑
Показать описание
Fear-mongering seems to have taken root in the way many Christians live and operate, but the most repeated command in Scripture is "Do Not Fear." God has not given us a spirit of fear (2 Timothy 1:7). In this video, Justin Amos of "The Mind of Christ" discusses why some Christians fear-monger and how there's a better way to live!

Fear Mongering appears to have taken root in the way many Christian respond to people, ideas or anything they disagree with or are concerned about.
Pastor and author Dave Dunham said, “The scenario can be depicted as follows. A Christian, with a particular obsession on some hot button issue, reads or hears some distressing information. They immediately proceed to engage in some high-level investigation to uncover the truth, also known as doing a Google search. Naturally, they find articles that confirm their worst fears, and without hesitation they proceed to share this information as though it were gospel truth. Their Facebook walls look like a running commentary on the brokenness of the world. They regularly report on the evils of the medical profession, the despicable politicians, or the immorality of 'the gays.' They live and thrive on fear, and love to share their horrifying stories with others.”
Fear, Fear, Fear, Fear, Fear
Fear might convince someone to change their actions for a season. But rarely does it change a human heart.
God is not in heaven worried about the politician that might win that you think will destroy society. He’s not stressing over the new law that you oppose. He’s not fretting over that new movement or group of people rising up that you think indicates the end of the world.
God has already seen it all. Ecclesiastes tells us there’s nothing new under the sun. Our hope is not found in creation. It’s not in a political or spiritual leader. Our hope is in the Creator & Savior of the world. So instead of pushing fear into the hearts of people, let’s push faith.
Let’s encourage people to put their faith in a Savior that laid the foundations of the earth (Job 38:4), whose voice breaks the cedars (Psalm 29:5), who is the cornerstone of our faith (1 Peter 2:6). In him all things were created. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together (Colossians 1:16-17).
The God who died and conquered death has remained steadfast for His people throughout all of human history and he’ll continue doing so until he calls us home.
So fear not because He is with you. Take comfort and find hope that regardless of what comes your way, Jesus will never leave you or forsake you!
