This is an extended version of my previous SpaceX Axiom-2 booster video from a few weeks ago. This one shows the initial sighting of the booster before the thrusters ignite for landing. And yes, my family and I had front row seats to this real life spectacle a few weeks back...

Approximately eight minutes after liftoff, the Falcon 9 rocket's first-stage booster targeted a landing back at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station's Landing Zone 1, generating a sonic boom. And although this was absolutely incredible to witness, we weren't prepared for that sonic boom. ;-)

That is one of the coolest thing humans have ever achieved.

Imagine a tall thin building falling out of the sky and landing itself. It gets me every time.

When I was a kid in the 70's watching Apollo mission launches. I NEVER thought I'd see the day I'd see rockets flying backwards. Never even conceived it. Still blows my mind every time I see it.

The boosters are like 16 stories tall! And they are still going so fast until the last second, unbelievable!

This is the way rockets landed in movies when I was a kid, back in the 1950's.

FANTASTIC camera work, no shaking, perfectly centered, no hercky jerky, just smooth as butter. Job well done!🎉

Seeing that just fills me with pride that our space program has come this far. Literally stuff youd see from 1960s and 70s sci fi movies....love it.

Absolutely brilliant that it can just find its way home. Absolutely brilliant! Guiding a multi ton steel rod through the atmosphere like a drone returning to home base. So incredible.

I could watch these a thousand times and it still wouldn't get old.
