Ever since Sunny Deol announced *Border 2* in June 2024, fans have been eagerly awaiting the iconic sequel. But the film has hit a snag with its casting. Ayushmann Khurrana, who was long rumored to be part of the project, has decided to step away. The *Badhaai Ho* actor was in talks to play a soldier, but after months of negotiations, he has reportedly walked out due to concerns about his character’s role in a film led by the legendary Sunny Deol.

What led Ayushmann to say ‘no’ to such an ambitious project? According to sources from Mid-Day, while Ayushmann was excited to join the cast, he was uncertain about how his character would be positioned in an ensemble dominated by Sunny Deol, ultimately leading to his decision to exit the film.

Meanwhile, there’s buzz that actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh is being considered for a role in *Border 2*. Although nothing is confirmed yet, fans are excited at the prospect of seeing Diljit and Sunny Deol together on screen, especially given their strong appeal in North India.

*Border 2* marks the continuation of the cult classic *Border*, which was released 27 years ago. This time, the film will be directed by Anurag Singh, known for *Kesari*, while JP Dutta, the director of the original, will produce the sequel. The film is expected to begin shooting in November 2024.
