Atheras Bay is located in the northwest part of the Lixouri peninsula, perfect for families with small children, as the water deepens gradually, it has a narrow strip of fine grey sand. There is a taverna by the beach and one more up the road. When there is no wind or if the wind is from the south, the water is calm, just like a "pool", it is a pleasant cove, relaxing and without loud beach music.....just nature and you...keep hydrated. There is no life guard here. This video was taken in the month of September, not crowded!!!!! black areas in the water near the sand are sea weed.
