Law changes, pay increases proposed to address crowded Washington hospitals

The Washington State Hospital Assoc. says a staffing shortage at long-term care facilities is part of the reason why hospitals are so full.

I worked in long term care. I had twenty patients that all had something different going on everyday. it's unsustainable at best, but it's down right negligent most of the time

This back up in hospital s is not new with this pandemic. As long as I can recall in a more than 30 year career as an RN. No one thinks they NEED nursing home care, why? Their horrific places it’s license to treat the most vulnerable among us worse than a dog. Many people live alone and they don’t have much help. As fast as they’re able bed or no they discharge people. Otherwise they are told they will have to pay the bill themselves
