We where there on Saturday, 23rd November when it snowed. The Old Town looked very Dickensian, beautiful. Couldnt have timed our visit better.

I was there in January 2023. Wonderful, interesting graveyard. I messaged you that day asking what the wonderful empty Greco bldg above it was. You said it was an old school. I was amazed. Looks like a mini White House!

I was in Edinburg last October and visited the Canongate Kirk Yard to look for the grave, My wife said I was crazy but I insisted I had heard about if from Tony.

Hello and thank you for the video. We went to Hope's Court today after your recommendation. We were all alone and were able to take some nice photos.
As always, greetings from Berlin....
No, greetings from Edinburgh today

It's funny, I'm wracking my brain now. I've seen the grave but don't have it written down as to where it was. I used the Canongate Kirk in the book that I featured you in! Of Kilted Pleasure has both Antoine Broonford of course, and the kirk -- since it took place in 1746 I'm not sure ol' mean man was dead yet - but he was when I saw the grave. i just can't remember the location in the kirkyard. GREAT story -- Dickens could have used a pair of readers perhaps.

I've discovered evidence that Charles Dickens wasn't the original author of "A Christmas Carol." It was written by two Americans, Mathew Franklin Whittier and his wife, Abby Poyen Whittier. However, there is an Edinburgh connection. According to my research, one of the two stories that Dickens plagiarized to hurriedly create "The Story of the Goblins That Stole a Sexton, " was entitled "The Unbidden Guest, " in the April, 1836 edition of "Blackwood's Edinburgh Magazine." Signed "Trismegistus, " it was written by Mathew, who had used that pseudonym as early as 1828.
