I think the big problem with the female bots is the fact they keep moving and shacking their heads when they are just sitting there talking. If they want to be more human, then stop the needless moving which would also save power insuring longer battery life.

According to Phil Schneider the US military is about 45 years ahead of the consumer market. Judging by that metric I'd say there are probably already very advanced very human-like robots being used for strategic purposes already! There are probably being used as humanoid surveillance drones maybe look-alikes for security purposes!
