Hi Peter, please do try and keep YouTube going as I find your channel one-of-a-kind as it's all about modelling but without the building - every other channel does the building! I like the in-depth explanations and the unique items that you review. Anyway, it's your channel, you do what you like - I'll keep watching.

Hi Peter The Allison V-1710 engine was a completely US development as far as I can tell. Apparently the only V-12 they developed themselves - They did use Radials an awful lot though, so no wonder. Perhaps you are thinking of the Packard Merlin engines, which were essentially the same as the British ones except for some American quirks added.
