Cool video! Would you be willing to share your big sky settings?

Did you come down on either as far as liking one more than another?

Both are incredible reverb pedals...the Tempus also has delay...NightSky, Cloudburst as is the Flint...Strymon make great, professional (but not cheap) pedals.. also you might also want to check out Perfect Circuit Poly Verb. Talk about an amazing reverb pedal !! In actuality however all gear is truly very subjective.

Both of these pedals sound great, for me, almost too perfect. After getting the Earthquaker Dispatch reverb, i couldn't believe how real and natural it sounded. When first hearing it, i got the impression its tone was part of the guitar's sound, as opposed to an effect added after. I'm always conscious of how 'good' the Big Sky is sounding, as i never really want an ultra-high fidelity effect/sound to smear a large part of my guitars tone. With the Earthquaker, however, the sound is so damn nice/natural that i'm never worried about drowning my guitar's tone, well, not nearly as much as when I play my Strymon.

Then, i decided to get EQ's Avalanche Run pedal. Jeez, just another gem. It sits right next to my Walrus Slotva and Chase Bliss Dark World on my ambient-blues pedal board.

Okay, so if it sounds like i'm pushing EQ...well, yep, I am. Sure, there is no doubt that there is a need for the sound quality of the Big Sky when needed. However, if you want a tone to play in a sleazy/dark bar, like the bar scene in the movie 'Fire Walk With Me' (Pink Room song), I'd have to say the Dispatch is what you want. In addition, if you want a tone like the guitar work in the movie Annihilation, the Dispatch + Avalanche Run would work well. These pedals have got mood and personality in spades, so much so that they do a good job sparking inspiration. Again, a different situation to when I would use my Big Sky.

Anyway, for those who like reverb, just thought I'd share my latest discovery --which I literally stumbled across when hearing someone at Guitar Center.

The opinions are personal, and it has not be considered as a fact’s. I could take your video as an example, and say that the Specular tempus sounds similar to the Bigsky, and it is cheaper, more compact it has USB, and also delays better than the timeline. As i said above opinions are opinions.

Try the other types though. Rooms are actually the weakest algorithm of the Tempus.
