if you can't see manage settings then you could have accidentally installed another antivirus, click open app where manage settings should be and you will identify the culprit, then delete it however you wish

i bought some software. it would not install on my Windows 11-based laptop. Windows Defender detected malware. the company that created the software said that it is a false-positive virus notification, and to insert an exclusion to run it. it still would not run after i did that. so, i was thinking that Windows Defender was probably detecting the malware, so i turned it off. the software ran! THEN Windows Update did something to my pc at 5am this morning, and now the software won't run again. i even made sure Windows Defender is turned off. geez there is no other antivirus on Windows 11, i assume. Just Windows Defender. I wonder what made the software not wanna run again.
