After over 4 years of using a fairly basic monitor arm that couldn't really fit all my monitors on it, I've finally splashed out and bought some better arms, and along with it I've swapped out some monitors so I'm now rocking 2 1440p IPS 165Hz displays, and a vertical 1080p one too. Here's how that went on...

You should have had this sponsored by Ryobi, seriously. Their stuff is amazing, I've got 3 Ryobi (Drill, Impact Driver, Reciprocating Saw) tools and 4 batteries. Only ever needed to use 2 batteries and they are still going strong even after a lot of charging cycles, not to mention that their high-cap batteries have a very decent amount of charge.

On topic of this video though, I loved seeing you DIY this together, you've done a super job and I'm happy it's working for you. You've more courage that me doing this with your tech still on the desk mind you though! My stuff would be destroyed if I left it there while doing that!

I am an evangelist for monitor arms. For most use cases a quality monitor arm completely transforms the user experience, saves your neck, clears up desk space, and brings the monitor as close to you as you want.
With all that said I just use a LG C9 OLED TV on my desk now.

Nice video Andy - lots of effort to improve the look of the setup - but well worth it.

I thought you were a cool tech kid Andy, one super wide 49 inch and a vertical 24" inch is what all the cool tech kids are sporting.

Way better, but a lot a clutter on the desk before and after :)
Regarding the monitor going black - try disabling G-Sync, usually that is the reason.

I have a GTX 1080FE connected to 3 Dell monitors mounted on a similar monitor arm to yours all with DisplayPort; 2 U2424H monitors on the left and right side and 1 S2721DGF in the middle. Only during games, this monitor also turns off and then back on in 2-3 seconds. Changed DP cables and also changed ports on the GPU. Latest NVidia drivers, Ryzen 5 3600 on a MSI B450 Gaming Plus Max with 16GB (2x8GB) Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR4-3866 memory. Let me know if swapping out the GPU resolves your issue. I had a GTX 980Ti before this and don't recall having this strange issue.
